CORE Strength Support

Focusing on the Capacity, Operations, Responsiveness, and Excellence of the nonprofits in our region, we will create and implement programming, individualized planning, and networking and learning opportunities to build the strength of our local nonprofit ecosystem. Our goal is to help nonprofits do what they do, better.

Agency Services

The Center for Nonprofit Excellence offers customized training, planning,  and development activities designed specifically for your nonprofit staff and board of directors using the CORE Strength model. We also offer board retreat facilitation, strategic planning, and assistance with endowment services. Services are provided at a discounted rate to Center for Nonprofit Excellence Members.

The Board Academy

The Board Academy is a three-hour workshop providing knowledge and skills to current board and staff members and those who wish to be placed on a nonprofit board at the conclusion of the training. Through engaging presentations from nonprofit experts and interactive role-playing, participants learn a board member’s responsibilities and how these responsibilities relate to others within the organization. The Board Academy workshop topics include: Roles and Rules, Financial Policies and Fiduciary Duties, Legal Considerations, Meeting and Committee Management, Strategic Planning, and Fundraising.

Consultant Directory

Consultants contribute specialized knowledge, coaching, assistance, and a novel viewpoint to enhance your endeavors and achievements. This directory of consultants serves as a tool to connect you with local experts in diverse fields who are ready to provide support.

Explore a range of categories such as attorneys, fundraisers, accountants, graphic designers, and more to discover consulting professionals available for collaboration.

Consultants can be added for a yearly fee of $100.

Additional Fee Based Services

Board of Directors

  • Orientation (Individual Board Academy) – up to two hours, $250
  • Retreat (topic specific, planning session) – up to half day, $350
  • Strategic Planning (Theory of Change, Impact Statement) – up to full day $500

 

Non Profit Lifecycles Training

  • Per Session (up to 4 hours) $350
 

Consulting on Programmatic, Operational, or Management Issues

  • Initial meeting is free for members or startups
  • Two hour session $150 for members, $50 for startups
 

Technical Review (Audit of Practice, Procedure, Policy)

  • $1000 for full review with recommendations and support for making needed changes (up to 10 hours)
  • $150 for Policy Manual
  • $150 Job Descriptions and Handbook
  • $150 for Board Bylaws
